In the beauty commercial, it’s a grown man in a woman’s room getting ready. This already uses pathos to get the watcher more engaged because it brings laughter to the audience. The target audience, These types of commercials are trying to reach our younger ones due to the fact, they are funny, if you watch a different insurance company, just talking about why their insurance is good no one‘s going to really watch, but they incorporate things the younger audience would enjoy. At the end of the day every insurance company want everyone to buy their product so they can be insured, if anything crazy happens, but Mr. Mayhem does a very good job on visualizing the unthinkable and promoting at the same time.

It gets people to laugh and also gives the viewers a more positive association with their product, because they enjoyed watching it. You also had a great introductory paragraph that set up the rest of the entry!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think it is very smart for the company to draw our attention by using pathos, and to pursued us into watching. Even though you might not buy into the company, it's still good that it gets anyones attention for the absurdity of the commercial. It is very welly marketed.
